Here we are in June and yes, I am writing about Christmas and New Year’s! Here in the UK we have been having glorious sunny and hot weather so it seems an odd time to now be posting about our travels last Christmas… but here we are.
I feel the first thing I should mention is… Nick does not do Christmas. If I get him to participate in anything at Christmas I count it as a win. So when few weeks before Nick announces he is surprising me with a News Year’s Eve trip to Tallinn, Estonia as my Christmas present to say I was shocked was an understatement.
So, work finished for Christmas and week after it’s off to Tallinn!

Back in February 2016 I had the choice to spend my 25th birthday at work, secretly panicking I was officially in my mid 20’s OR in Reykjavik, Iceland? Tricky choice, I know.
As quick as we had decided we were on the plane, off the plane and had arrived to snow and lot’s of it! Out of the airport and onto the coach into Reykjavik… wait… why has the bus driver stopped? Why is he telling us to get off? This is NOT our hotel?

Continuing our Scandinavian Adventure it seems only right to go in the order we travelled in soo… our next big trip was Gothenburg, Sweden, a beautiful place with so much to see!
Hot chocolates, cafes, tram travelling, park viewing and good food. We packed in a lot in our 4 days, so much so that I don’t know how best to fit it all into this post.
A special mention has to go to the Universeum, which was initially meant as a time filler but ended up being one of the most interesting museums we have been too. You could not only be an astronaut but also visit a rain forest and go back in time to the ice age. I would, without a doubt, class this as a must do!

The first stop on our holiday adventures was Oslo, Norway.
Our first holiday…together. Just me and him. Now they say you don’t know a person until you live with them, well a holiday is considered a crash course.
We had arrived at that point in our lives where you have to start thinking of the future, with plans of growing up and moving in together looming, we thought now is the time to do what we want before we have responsibilities.
